Family is a central institution in society. At the same time, social, economic, demographic, and technological changes are transforming the circumstances and situations of families in many ways. To shape this societal development sustainably through policy, it is essential to recognize and understand the complex realities, trends, concerns, and needs of families.
In the interdisciplinary research association “Family Life in Bavaria – Empirical Insights into Transformations, Resources, and Negotiations (ForFamily),” ten research projects explore the multifaceted aspects of the realities and living conditions of families. The association aims to provide a contemporary, evidence-based contribution to our understanding of the current state and the changes within families in Bavaria, and to offer recommendations for political action.
