The Bavarian research association ForFamily will receive funding of 3.6 million euros from the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts over a period of four years (January 2024 to December 2027). This format promotes interdisciplinary research on complex social issues. Key aspects include the development of interdisciplinary working methods and the transfer and exchange of knowledge with other areas of society such as the public sector, civil society actors, politics and industry. Significant emphasis is also placed on the qualification of research assistants who are working on their doctorate or habilitation within the research association.
In addition to ForFamily, there are other Bavarian research associations, some of which are also funded by the Bavarian Ministry of Science, while others receive support form different institutions. These associations are connected under the umbrella of the Bavarian Research Alliance (BayFOR).
